How the POD Pricing Calculator Works
This calculator works backwards from your desired profit margin. Instead of entering a selling price and asking how much profit remains, you enter your costs and desired margin and the calculator estimates the minimum revenue needed to hit that target.
If you charge customers separately for shipping, that shipping revenue is deducted from the required total to estimate the product price itself.
Why Product Cost Alone Is Not Enough
A common POD pricing mistake is to take the fulfillment cost and simply double it. That ignores provider shipping, payment fees, advertising, app expenses and other costs that may reduce the actual margin.
What Is Profit Margin?
Profit margin is the percentage of revenue left after the costs entered into the calculator are deducted. A 30% margin means approximately 30 cents of every dollar of entered revenue remains as estimated product-level profit.
Why Does the Payment Fee Matter?
Percentage-based transaction fees increase as your selling price increases. The calculator accounts for this mathematically instead of treating the fee as a fixed number.
Should I Include Advertising Cost?
If you rely on paid traffic, enter your average advertising cost per order. For organic sales, enter zero. You can also run the calculator twice to compare organic and paid-sale pricing.
Can I Use This for Printify, Printful or Gelato?
Yes. The calculator is provider-independent. Enter the actual product, shipping and other costs for the fulfillment provider and sales channel you use.
Does This Include Taxes?
No. Taxes, refunds, chargebacks, discounts, subscriptions, currency conversion and other expenses can affect actual results. This calculator is for general planning and educational purposes only.
Disclaimer: This tool provides estimates, not financial, tax or accounting advice. Always verify your actual store fees and business costs.
POD Profit Calculator
A sale is not profit. This calculator shows what remains after fulfillment, provider shipping, platform/payment fees, advertising and other per-order expenses.
POD Profit Calculator
Estimate your print-on-demand profit after fulfillment, shipping, fees, advertising and other costs.
How the POD Profit Calculator Works
This tool estimates the amount that may remain from each print-on-demand order after the main costs of producing, shipping and acquiring the sale are deducted.
Product Selling Price
Enter the amount the customer pays for the product before any separate shipping charge.
Shipping Charged to Customer
If you charge customers separately for shipping, enter that amount here. If you offer free shipping, enter zero.
Product / Fulfillment Cost
Enter the amount your print-on-demand provider charges to manufacture the product.
Shipping Paid to Provider
Enter the shipping cost charged by your POD fulfillment provider.
Payment / Platform Fees
Enter your percentage transaction fee and any fixed payment fee charged per transaction.
Advertising Cost per Sale
If you use paid advertising, enter your average customer acquisition cost or CPA. Enter zero for an organic sale.
What Is Profit Margin?
Profit margin shows what percentage of your revenue remains after the costs entered into the calculator are deducted.
What Is Break-Even CPA?
Break-even CPA is the approximate maximum amount you could spend to acquire one order before estimated product-level profit reaches zero.
What Is Break-Even ROAS?
Break-even ROAS estimates the minimum return on advertising spend needed before your entered costs consume the revenue from the sale.
Can I Use This for Printify, Printful or Gelato?
Yes. The calculator is provider-independent. Enter the actual costs from whichever print-on-demand fulfillment provider you use.
Does This Calculator Include Taxes?
No. Taxes, refunds, chargebacks, currency conversion, subscriptions and other business expenses may affect your actual profit.
Disclaimer: This calculator provides estimates for general educational and planning purposes. Always verify your actual platform fees, fulfillment costs, taxes and other expenses.
Break-Even ROAS Calculator
Translate your product economics into advertising targets. Instead of choosing a random ROAS goal, calculate the point where ad spend consumes the contribution available from each order.
Break-Even ROAS Calculator
Find the minimum return on ad spend your POD store needs before advertising becomes unprofitable.
How the Break-Even ROAS Calculator Works
ROAS means return on ad spend. It compares the revenue generated from advertising with the amount spent on that advertising.
Break-even ROAS is the ROAS level where the revenue from an order covers the costs entered into the calculator, including fulfillment, provider shipping and payment fees, but leaves approximately zero profit.
What Is Break-Even CPA?
Break-even CPA is the approximate maximum amount you can spend to acquire one order before the estimated profit on that order reaches zero.
What Is Current ROAS?
Current ROAS uses the advertising cost per sale that you enter. For example, if an order generates $30 in revenue and costs $10 in advertising, the current ROAS is 3.00x.
Why Is Target ROAS Higher Than Break-Even ROAS?
Break-even means approximately zero product-level profit. If you want to keep a positive margin after advertising, you generally need a higher ROAS than the break-even value. The desired profit margin field lets you estimate that higher target.
Should Shipping Revenue Be Included?
Yes. If the customer pays shipping separately, that amount is part of the order revenue. If you offer free shipping, enter zero for customer shipping while still entering the shipping cost paid to the fulfillment provider.
Can I Use This for Meta Ads or Google Ads?
Yes. The calculator is not tied to a specific advertising platform. You can use your average CPA from Meta Ads, Google Ads, TikTok Ads, Pinterest Ads or another paid acquisition channel.
Can I Use This for Printify, Printful or Gelato?
Yes. Enter the actual product and shipping costs from the print-on-demand provider you use.
Does This Include Taxes?
No. Taxes, refunds, chargebacks, discounts, subscription expenses, currency conversion and other business costs can affect actual profitability.
Disclaimer: This calculator provides estimates for educational and planning purposes only. Always verify your actual platform, payment, advertising, fulfillment and tax costs.
Free Shipping Calculator
Free shipping can improve the offer, but the fulfillment provider still charges shipping. Compare your current setup with free-shipping alternatives before absorbing that cost.
Free Shipping Calculator
See how offering free shipping may affect your POD profit and calculate a product price for your desired margin.
Shipping Strategy Comparison
| Scenario | Product Price | Shipping Charged | Estimated Profit | Margin |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Current setup | — | — | — | — |
| Free shipping — absorb cost | — | Free | — | — |
| Free shipping — keep checkout total | — | Free | — | — |
| Free shipping — target margin | — | Free | — | — |
How the Free Shipping Calculator Works
Free shipping does not remove the shipping cost. It changes who visibly pays for it. When the customer is not charged separately for shipping, the seller generally needs to absorb that expense or include some or all of it in the product price.
What Does “Absorb Shipping” Mean?
In the absorb-shipping scenario, the product price stays unchanged while the customer shipping charge is reduced to zero. The provider still charges you for shipping, so your profit usually falls.
What Does “Keep Current Checkout Total” Mean?
This scenario moves the amount previously charged as separate shipping into the product price. For example, a $29.99 product plus $4.99 shipping becomes approximately a $34.98 product with free shipping.
How Is the Target Free-Shipping Price Calculated?
The calculator works backward from your desired profit margin while accounting for fulfillment, shipping, percentage fees, fixed fees, advertising and other entered costs.
Why Can Free Shipping Improve Conversion?
Some shoppers prefer seeing one clear product price rather than discovering an extra shipping charge during checkout. However, whether free shipping improves conversion depends on the store, product, market and customer expectations.
Should I Always Raise the Price by the Shipping Cost?
Not necessarily. You may choose to absorb part of the shipping expense, raise the product price by the full amount, or use a different target margin. The calculator lets you compare these scenarios before changing your pricing.
Can I Use This for Printify, Printful or Gelato?
Yes. Enter the real fulfillment and shipping costs charged by your provider. The calculator is not tied to a specific POD company.
Does This Include Taxes?
No. Taxes, refunds, chargebacks, subscription expenses, currency conversion, discounts and other business costs can affect actual profit.
Disclaimer: This calculator provides estimates for educational and planning purposes only. Always verify your actual fulfillment, shipping, payment, advertising and tax costs.
Print Size & DPI Calculator
Check whether artwork contains enough pixel information for the physical print size you want. The tool converts pixel dimensions and print inches into effective DPI.
Print Size & DPI Calculator
Check artwork resolution, effective DPI and maximum print size before uploading designs to a POD provider.
| Target DPI | Max Print Width | Max Print Height | Approx. Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| 300 DPI | — | — | Fine detail / close viewing |
| 240 DPI | — | — | High-quality print |
| 200 DPI | — | — | Moderate enlargement |
| 150 DPI | — | — | Larger prints / greater viewing distance |
How the Print Size & DPI Calculator Works
DPI means dots per inch in printing. When checking a digital artwork file for print size, designers often use pixel dimensions divided by the intended print dimensions in inches to estimate the effective print resolution.
For example, an image that is 4500 pixels wide printed at 15 inches wide has an effective horizontal resolution of 300 DPI.
Why Does the Calculator Use the Lower DPI?
An image can have different horizontal and vertical DPI when its pixel aspect ratio does not match the chosen print aspect ratio. The calculator uses the lower value as the effective DPI because that dimension is the limiting factor.
What Is Aspect Ratio?
Aspect ratio describes the relationship between width and height. If the artwork ratio and print-area ratio do not match, the design may need to be cropped, stretched or placed with unused space.
Is 300 DPI Always Required for POD?
No single DPI value is correct for every product or print method. Some products and providers may recommend 300 DPI, while larger prints or different printing processes may accept lower effective resolution. Always check the current file requirements supplied by the POD provider for the specific product.
What Does Maximum Print Size Mean?
Maximum print size is calculated by dividing the image's pixel dimensions by a chosen DPI target. For example, a 4500-pixel-wide image divided by 300 DPI gives a 15-inch maximum width at that resolution.
Can Increasing the DPI Metadata Improve a Low-Resolution Image?
Simply changing the DPI metadata does not create new image detail. The actual pixel dimensions are what matter for this calculation. Upscaling software can create additional pixels, but the resulting print quality depends on the source artwork and the upscaling method.
Can I Use This for Printify, Printful or Gelato?
Yes. The calculator is provider-independent, but the final artwork requirements should always be checked against the specific product template and instructions from the provider you use.
Disclaimer: The quality labels in this calculator are general planning guidance, not guarantees of print quality. Print method, artwork type, substrate, viewing distance, printer settings and provider requirements can all affect the final result.
Discount Profit Calculator
See what a coupon or sale really does to profit. Fulfillment and shipping costs usually stay almost unchanged even when the customer price drops.
Discount Profit Calculator
See how discounts affect your POD selling price, profit margin, break-even point and monthly earnings.
Discount Comparison
| Discount | Product Price | Profit / Order | Profit Margin | Monthly Profit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0% | — | — | — | — |
| 10% | — | — | — | — |
| 20% | — | — | — | — |
| 30% | — | — | — | — |
| 40% | — | — | — | — |
| 50% | — | — | — | — |
How the Discount Profit Calculator Works
A discount reduces your selling price immediately, but most fulfillment, shipping and fixed transaction costs stay the same. That means a 20% discount can reduce profit by much more than 20%.
Why Can Discounts Destroy POD Margin Quickly?
Your POD provider generally does not reduce the manufacturing cost just because you offer your customer a discount. Provider shipping and many other costs also remain unchanged. The discount therefore comes primarily out of your own margin.
What Is Maximum Break-Even Discount?
This is the approximate largest discount you could offer before the estimated profit on the order reaches zero, based on the costs entered into the calculator.
Does the Percentage Payment Fee Change After a Discount?
Yes. Percentage-based payment fees usually fall when the customer pays less. The calculator applies the entered percentage fee to the discounted order revenue, while the fixed payment fee stays unchanged.
Should I Include Advertising Cost?
Yes if the sale came from paid advertising. A discount campaign may increase conversion while still losing money if customer acquisition cost remains high. Enter your average CPA to see a more realistic estimate.
Can I Use This for Shopify, Printify or Printful?
Yes. The calculator is platform-independent. Enter your actual product, shipping, payment and advertising costs.
Does This Include Taxes?
No. Taxes, refunds, returns, chargebacks, subscriptions, currency conversion and other expenses can affect actual results.
Disclaimer: This calculator provides estimates for educational and planning purposes only. Always verify your actual fulfillment, payment, advertising and tax costs.
Etsy POD Listing Price Calculator
Build Etsy transaction, payment-processing, listing and optional advertising fees into a POD price instead of copying a competitor's number.
Etsy/POD Listing Price Calculator
Calculate an Etsy listing price that accounts for POD costs, Etsy fees, payment processing, Offsite Ads and your target profit.
Offsite Ads Pricing Comparison
| Offsite Ads Fee | Target-Margin Listing Price | Estimated Etsy Fees | Estimated Profit | Margin |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0% | — | — | — | — |
| 12% | — | — | — | — |
| 15% | — | — | — | — |
How the Etsy/POD Listing Price Calculator Works
POD sellers on Etsy need to account for more than the fulfillment cost. Etsy transaction fees, listing fees, Etsy Payments processing fees and optional fees can all reduce the amount left from each sale.
Etsy Transaction Fee
Etsy currently charges a standard transaction fee of 6.5% of the order amount. Etsy states that this fee applies to the item price and customer shipping or gift-wrap charges when applicable.
Etsy Listing Fee
Etsy currently charges a standard $0.20 USD listing fee. Sold listings may also generate auto-renew or multi-quantity listing fees depending on the transaction.
Etsy Payments Processing Fee
Etsy Payments processing fees vary by the location of the seller's bank account. The default values in this calculator show the current U.S. rate, but sellers outside the U.S. should replace them with the official rate for their country.
What About Etsy Offsite Ads?
Etsy may charge an Offsite Ads fee when an order is attributed to an eligible Offsite Ad. Etsy currently describes rates of 12% or 15% depending on shop circumstances. Select the rate that applies to the order you are planning for.
What Is the Target-Profit Listing Price?
This is the estimated product price required to leave the specific profit amount entered after the costs and fees in the calculator are deducted.
What Is the Target-Margin Listing Price?
This price is calculated backward from your desired profit margin. Percentage-based Etsy fees increase when the listing price increases, so the calculator accounts for them in the pricing equation rather than treating them as fixed costs.
Why Is Shipping Charged to the Customer Included?
Customer shipping can form part of the order amount on which certain Etsy fees are calculated. Enter the shipping amount you plan to charge separately, or enter zero if shipping is included in the product price.
Can I Use This With Printify, Printful or Gelato?
Yes. Enter the actual product and shipping costs charged by your POD provider. The calculator does not depend on a specific fulfillment company.
Are Etsy Fees the Same in Every Country?
No. Etsy Payments processing rates vary by seller country, and Etsy also lists certain country-specific regulatory operating fees. Currency conversion and tax treatment can vary as well.
Disclaimer: This calculator provides estimates for educational and planning purposes only. Etsy fees and policies can change. Verify the current official Etsy fee schedule for your seller country, account and transaction before setting prices. Taxes, VAT, sales tax, refunds, reserves, currency conversion and other charges may affect actual results.
POD Shipping Profit Calculator
Model the shipping economics of single-item and multi-item POD orders where the first item and additional items may have different provider rates.
POD Shipping Profit Calculator
Calculate provider shipping, customer shipping coverage, multi-item order profit and shipping impact on POD margins.
Multi-Item Shipping Comparison
| Items / Order | Provider Shipping | Total Revenue | Profit / Order | Profit / Item | Margin |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | — | — | — | — | — |
| 2 | — | — | — | — | — |
| 3 | — | — | — | — | — |
| 4 | — | — | — | — | — |
| 5 | — | — | — | — | — |
How the POD Shipping Profit Calculator Works
POD shipping often has a first-item rate and a different additional-item rate. That means a two-item or three-item order can have a different profit structure than simply multiplying the cost of a one-item order.
What Does Shipping Coverage Mean?
Shipping coverage compares the amount the customer pays for shipping with the shipping charge you pay to the fulfillment provider. A positive amount means customer shipping exceeds the provider shipping cost. A negative amount means you are absorbing part of the shipping cost.
Why Can Multi-Item Orders Improve Profit?
If additional-item shipping is lower than first-item shipping, larger orders can sometimes improve contribution profit because advertising and fixed payment costs are spread across more items. This depends on your actual provider rates and pricing.
What Is Break-Even Customer Shipping?
This is the approximate shipping amount the customer would need to pay for the order to reach zero estimated profit at the current product price and entered costs.
What Does Product Price Needed With Free Shipping Mean?
This estimates the per-item product price that would preserve the same order profit if customer shipping were changed to zero. It can help when comparing separate shipping against shipping included in the product price.
Can I Use This for Printify, Printful or Gelato?
Yes. Enter the actual first-item and additional-item shipping rates for your product and destination. Shipping rates can vary by product, provider and country, so always verify current rates.
Does This Include Taxes?
No. Taxes, VAT, sales tax, refunds, chargebacks, discounts, currency conversion and other expenses may affect actual profit.
Disclaimer: This calculator provides estimates for educational and planning purposes only. Always verify your actual fulfillment, shipping, payment, advertising and tax costs.
Marketplace Fee & Net Payout Calculator
Separate gross customer payment from marketplace deductions, net payout and final business profit so revenue does not get mistaken for money you actually keep.
Marketplace Fee & Net Payout Calculator
Estimate marketplace fees, payment processing costs, net payout and actual POD profit from each order.
Fee Impact Comparison
| Scenario | Total Fees | Net Payout | Net Profit | Profit Margin |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| No marketplace fee | — | — | — | — |
| 5% marketplace fee | — | — | — | — |
| 10% marketplace fee | — | — | — | — |
| 15% marketplace fee | — | — | — | — |
| 20% marketplace fee | — | — | — | — |
How the Marketplace Fee Calculator Works
Marketplace selling fees can reduce POD profit significantly, especially when transaction fees, payment processing charges, listing fees and additional advertising fees are stacked together.
Why Are Marketplace Fees Entered Manually?
Marketplace and payment fee schedules can change over time and may differ by country, account type, payment method or advertising program. Entering the actual current fees from your platform helps make the estimate more useful and avoids relying on outdated hard-coded rates.
What Is Gross Customer Payment?
Gross customer payment is the discounted product price plus any shipping amount charged to the customer. Depending on the platform, some fee types may apply to product price, shipping or other parts of the transaction.
What Is Net Payout?
Net payout is the amount left after the marketplace and payment fees entered into the calculator are deducted, but before POD fulfillment, provider shipping, advertising and other business costs are subtracted.
What Is Effective Fee Rate?
Effective fee rate compares the total marketplace and payment fees with the gross customer payment. It helps sellers understand how much of the order is being consumed by platform fees.
Should I Include Offsite or Marketplace Advertising Fees?
If a specific sale is subject to an additional percentage-based marketplace advertising fee, enter that percentage in the additional platform / ad fee field. If the fee does not apply, enter zero.
Can I Use This for Etsy, Shopify, eBay or Other Marketplaces?
Yes. The calculator is designed to be platform-independent. Enter the actual fee structure that applies to your account, country and transaction.
Does This Include Taxes?
No. Taxes, VAT, sales tax, refunds, chargebacks, currency conversion, reserve holds and other expenses can affect the actual payout and profit.
Disclaimer: This calculator provides estimates for educational and planning purposes only. Marketplace and payment rates change, so always verify the current official fee schedule that applies to your account and transaction.
POD Bundle Pricing Calculator
Test multi-item offers before publishing them. A bundle discount can lift average order value, but it also changes product cost, shipping, fees and profit.
POD Bundle Pricing Calculator
Calculate bundle pricing, customer savings, profit margin and break-even discounts for 2-pack, 3-pack and larger POD offers.
Bundle Discount Comparison
| Bundle Discount | Bundle Price | Customer Saves | Profit / Bundle | Profit Margin | Monthly Profit |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 0% | — | — | — | — | — |
| 10% | — | — | — | — | — |
| 15% | — | — | — | — | — |
| 20% | — | — | — | — | — |
| 25% | — | — | — | — | — |
| 30% | — | — | — | — | — |
How the POD Bundle Pricing Calculator Works
Bundle offers can increase average order value, but the discount, fulfillment costs and shipping structure all affect whether the bundle is actually more profitable.
Why Separate First-Item and Additional-Item Shipping?
Some POD providers charge one shipping amount for the first product and a lower rate for additional products shipped in the same order. This calculator lets you model that structure instead of assuming the same shipping cost for every item.
What Is Effective Price per Item?
Effective price per item is the discounted bundle price divided by the number of products in the bundle. This makes it easier to compare the bundle offer with your regular single-item price.
What Is Maximum Break-Even Bundle Discount?
This is the approximate largest bundle discount you could offer before the estimated bundle profit reaches zero, based on the costs entered into the calculator.
Can a Bigger Bundle Be More Profitable Even with a Discount?
Yes. A larger bundle may spread fixed payment fees, advertising cost and some shipping costs across multiple items. But this is not guaranteed, especially if fulfillment and shipping rise quickly or the discount is too aggressive.
Should I Include Advertising Cost per Bundle Order?
Yes if you use paid acquisition. If one ad-generated customer purchases the whole bundle, enter the average customer acquisition cost for that bundle order rather than multiplying your CPA by the number of items.
Can I Use This for Printify, Printful or Gelato?
Yes. Enter the real fulfillment and shipping structure from the POD provider you use. Always verify the provider's current rates for the products and destination involved.
Does This Include Taxes?
No. Taxes, refunds, chargebacks, discounts from other promotions, subscription costs, currency conversion and other expenses can affect your actual profit.
Disclaimer: This calculator provides estimates for educational and planning purposes only. Always verify your actual fulfillment, shipping, payment, advertising and tax costs.

| 5,000 | — | — | — |
How the POD Break-Even Sales Calculator Works
A print-on-demand store has two broad types of costs: variable costs that happen with each order and fixed costs that may continue even when no orders are placed.
Contribution profit is the amount left from each order to cover monthly fixed expenses and, after those are covered, generate profit.
What Are Variable Costs?
Variable costs may include product fulfillment, provider shipping, payment processing, advertising and other costs that are directly associated with each order.
What Are Monthly Fixed Costs?
Fixed costs can include Shopify or ecommerce subscriptions, paid apps, design software, domains, email tools and other recurring business expenses that do not necessarily change with every order.
What Does Break-Even Mean?
Break-even is the approximate point where your contribution profit from orders covers the monthly fixed costs entered into the calculator. At that point, estimated monthly profit is approximately zero.
How Are Orders for a Profit Goal Calculated?
The calculator adds your desired monthly profit to your fixed monthly costs and divides that amount by the estimated contribution profit from each order.
Why Are Orders Rounded Up?
You cannot normally sell part of an order, so the calculator rounds required order counts upward to the next whole order.
Can I Use This for Shopify, Printify, Printful or Gelato?
Yes. The calculator is provider-independent. Enter the real costs from your fulfillment provider, payment processor, advertising and ecommerce setup.
Does This Include Taxes?
No. Taxes, refunds, chargebacks, currency conversion, discounts, returns and other business expenses can affect your actual break-even point.
